Why do I care about privacy?
The reality is with Chadder you do not need to care about privacy! As the application progresses the features will allow our users to just have fun and as an added perk privacy will be built in.
Why did you build Chadder?
We as a team built Chadder to provide an alternative to all of the public messaging applications out there: Facebook, SnapChat, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. And our goal is to build and maintain a system that will always put the user in control.
How does Chadder work?
Chadder's messages are secured by an open source PKI solution.
How do I add a friend on Chadder?
(IOS) Go to the contacts tab and tap add at the top of the screen. Search for the username your friend has set, hit their name, and start chadding!
(ANDROID) Hit find friend on any tab, type in their name, and hit add contact!
What is the goal for Chadder?
Chadder is aiming to be the application that allows normal everyday people to have private communication. We are not claiming to be the perfect security application because there is no such thing. We do claim to be much better than the users current communication options.
What is the difference between security and privacy?
The difference between Security and Privacy is simple. You can be secure without being private. It is very hard to be private without first being secure.
Why are you crowd funding?
We need the money to build a truly cross platform solution. We need to find IOS and Blackberry developers before those versions can be launched. We are also planning a total redesign of the UI because our beta is confusing to people.
What type of encryption do you use?
We use ECDH with the SecP256k1 curve (the same form of encryption that Bitcoin uses), combined with AES 256. We also use ECDSA for message signing. Our user key thumbprints use SHA-1.
